Looking ahead...

Happy New Year! This new year feels fresh and exciting, to me. It began with a string of sunny, wintery days in Portland and we are slowly getting back into a routine after holiday-ing it up for the last few weeks. I always enjoy the re-entry into life.

At the time of our family going from two to three, life took a whole new form. Suddenly, the slow, quiet, and simple things become some of the most important. We look at the things that make up life with new eyes. Over the last while, we've been feeling like the time is on the crest for this blog to come to an end. We talk about small-ifying our life. Not a word, an idea. The internet proves to be the hardest place to make that a reality- the internet is huge. But we can choose where on the internet to be. So this is an effort to bring this reality to the internet, as we are in our life.

It's been a thought we've dissected a lot, pro/con style. This blog has been a creative outlet for us for a few years, now. It's been fun- and it's been a means to some great clients, friends, and opportunities... We are grateful for it and see it as something that's been good for us. We feel happy at the thought of so many of you who have been friends of ours, through this space. We thank you for the feedback, support, encouragement, and fun. We hope you will be equally understanding of this decision of ours! It's just what makes sense for us as a family, at this time.

We will still be working just the same as before, with our company- Seachant... We feel envisioned and excited for the coming year and projects in the pipeline. We'll still be updating our online portfolios with current work and projects (Andrew's and Carissa's)... I've created a photostream/journal to my portfolio site, that I will update more regularly with day-to-day photos I take. This way of posting pictures feels much less time-intensive and less pressured to me. So I hope some of you will continue providing your feedback and thoughts as I continue to share my work.

It feels right, in many ways. This space has been called Andrew Carissa, since the beginning, and we are no longer just that- we are more and we love everything that means. So fellow people, thank you for the support the last few years- looking forward to what is ahead! Here's to small-ifying!

With our gratitude, Andrew, Carissa, and Rinah
