When In Chinatown.

Yesterday was a day spent with Fairfax. I don’t want to get too sentimental here but I just have to say that I feel really fortunate that my original goal to live alone was sacrificed in order to find a place quickly. Having Fax as my roommate has significantly improved my Los Angeles experience so far and once again, I have learned that sometimes things not going according to my plan is absolutely for the best. The bestest best.

Anyway, when planning on spending an afternoon in Chinatown, wear your most forgiving clothes (gotta eat all the dim sum), bring an extra layer just in case (which I definitely didn’t need), and make comfortable shoes a priority (yes, these wedges really are comfortable). This was the combination I came up with for this Chinatown, dumpling binging, wide-eyed exploring venture.

On another note, I am currently working from a laundromat I discovered in my favorite L.A. neighborhood with free parking and a Starbucks inside. This morning a surprise package from a close friend arrived on my doorstep full of beer from my favorite Grand Rapids brewery, Founders. And the shirt wrapped around my waist in these photos was purchased for an additional 40% off the sale price (still available here - also in peach) Needless to say, I really feel like a winner today. All of these things almost make up for the fact that I just put 30 minutes of time on the lower dryer when my clothes, sheets, and towels were all soaking wet in the top one. Did I switch the clothes into the other dryer or just absorb that extra $1.05 and pay twice? The blog world may never know. (Okay fine, I paid twice.)
