2014 VERIZON DBIR: YEAR OF LIVING DANGEROUSLY

Verizon report 2014.

Some really interesting stats that have come out of the Verizon data breach report, an exert that is below. It would appear that data loss is still a big issue across all sectors. However in some sectors the big guys- 1000 employees- have started to take things more seriously. The report makes really interesting reading and shows that incidents can be put into 9 categories:

• insider misuse
• miscellaneous errors
• physical threat/loss
• payment card skimmer#
• web app attacks
• crime ware
• DOS attacks
• cyber-espionage
• point-of-sale intrusion
