Dermalogica Testing (day 3 of many)

Hi everyone,

I completely forgot to post the products I used yesterday. For day one click here and for day 2 click here.

Saturday night I cleansed with the same Dermalogica – Special Cleansing Gel I’ve been using the last couple of days.

I’m really starting to get used to this routine already. I make a foam in my hands and then apply it to my face using a gentle massage to get it all over. Then I use my Clarisonic to ensure I have all the dirt and then take washcloth with warm water and remove all the dirt and cleansing residue.

I used the Dermalogica – Active Moist as my nightcream again.

This cream really is a lot richer then the other cream I used before and that means my skin felt nicely moisturised and looked more refreshed the following morning. My eyecream remains the Philosophy one I’ve been using for a while.

Today it’s Sunday and I started with a “new” cleaning product today. I used the Dermalogica – Gentle Cream Exfoliant, simply because of the name.

This product is recommended for all skin conditions except for the environmentally-sensitized.
The only thing was, this was to be used on a cleansed face, so I used last night’s Special Cleansing Gel again to prep. I then applied a thin layer (which was all of the product in the sample), all over my face and throat. They warn you for mild stinging, but I felt none. After 15 minutes I sinced thoroughly and really felt like my skin was even smoother at this point. It’s really weird, it’s really starting to feel like a baby’s skin. And I know how a baby’s skin feels because I have a little niece who’s 8 months right now.

Next I knew that after a exfoliating treatment I needed another product that would really sooth, so I chose the Dermalogica – Intensive Moisture Balance.

This is recommended for drier of prematurely-aging skin. So it really feeds the skin. It’s an ultra-rich phytonutrient moisturizer that’s designed to combat dry skin and it really does, but it does so without making your skin feel like it’s too oily or like it can’t breathe. This really is a product that I would put in my standard regimen once I’m over 35.

I wanted to then try out the Dermalogica – Treatment Foundation but I’d waited to long before testing this and it’s already past it’s use by date and it was hard in the plastic container. So instead I used another foundation. I really was curious to find out if a moisturizer like this would mean slipping and sliding foundation. So I didn’t use a primer, I just used a buffing brush to buff in a little Make Up For Ever – HD foundation in 145. I curled my lashes (no mascara) and used a little Philosophy lipgloss on my lips and that’s it. And lo and behold it applied like a dream, this moisturizer kept my skin feeling well fed but the foundation held the entire day, many hours later when I took of my “makeup” my skin still felt really comfortable. So this really is an amazing product, I wouldn’t say use it if you’re young or have oily skin, but normal to dry skin (or aging skin) will probably love it.
