DIY: How To Make Pom Pom Shoes

Look! Pom pom shoes! Super cute, eh? I decided that I needed some practical shoes for my little London adventure, but everything I found in my extremely low budget was remarkably dull. As you can imagine, that was never going to stand with me! This DIY has been playing on my mind for ages and, when I spotted these green shoes at Primark it seemed like the stars all aligned

Boo to plain shoes! To turn your pair of shoes into the cutest pumps you've ever seen, all you need is some hot glue and wool. I know, it's like the greatest project of all time. You're welcome!

A way back when, I shared THIS amazing mini pom pom DIY using a fork. Hook yourself up with that tutorial and meet me back here. You can always use two cardboard circles or one of those nifty pom pom machines too, 'sup to you.

Boom! Two minuets of wrapping wool and a quick tight tie in the middle and you've got your pom's. Trim the excess edges to make 'em nice and round and tidy. Lovely.

For a little added protection from the streets, glue the bottom part of the pom pom that's going to be hidden on the shoe. I actually used some UHU superglue here, but you could hot glue it instead. A silly man stood on my foot whilst I was on the underground and gave my pom pom a bad knock - I was worried there would need to be a pom pom funeral back at the hotel! But, thanks to this step, only a couple of threads came loose, but when I trimmed them down a little they looked like new again. Phew!

After the poms have dried, add a big glob of hot glue onto the middle of your shoe then firmly press your pom pom down. Hold it in place for a minute or two and you're done!

*Ta*Da*

Your going to have the prettiest feet in town! I actually got some really sweet comments from my lovely new friends when they spotted them - no one could believe they cost me less than £10! I've got a few colour ways in mind so I think I might reward my work with another pair next time I'm in town. One for every day of the week? Who could blame me ;)
Happy Making!! xox
