For Cowboys & Cowgirls: Texas Boot Company Lucchese Boots

When the summer in England gives way to the autumn breeze and I am reminded that the cold cold winter is not too far away, I often think of the few months I spent in Texas; a completely different lifestyle and climate to the UK. Welcoming, warm (read: hot and humid), the home of amazing BBQ and Amy’s Ice-Cream (everything is definitely bigger in Texas, especially the food), the Longhorns and oh yes did I mention the heat and humidity?

When I lived in Austin, Texas, I never invested in a pair of cowboy boots as I wasn’t sure if they would translate into my English wardrobe. Yet here I am, wearing my new Lucchese boots from the Texas Boot Company, waiting for my next rodeo

The Texas Boot Company has an interesting heritage. Located in Bastrop, Texas, the company began in 2010 when founders Marc and Shelly Conselman’s dream to provide great quality, well-fitting, comfortable western wear translated into a destination store as authentic as the boots they design. One third of the Lucchese boots they stock are created in-house, giving buyers unique access to an exclusive selection of styles.

Texas will always have a special place in my heart as the state that I met my husband in. He has his own pair of Lucchese boots, and he tells me every man’s man, every real cowboy, every great President of the United States owns a pair of Lucchese’s. He calls them the ‘gold standard’ in boots. He goes further to say that only when you grow up, are you worthy of a pair of Lucchese boots. They are a rite of passage – a part of being a ‘man’ in America.

Our boots now proudly and loving sit together at our home. They are not only made for work they are made for fashion, since I doubt anyone wears this style unless you are interested in wearing something special (you are not just wearing any old boot). So what are you waiting for – wherever you live, it is time to get your cowgirl on…
