JNSQ Best Oscar Moments 2014

This year I took to Twitter to live tweet my thoughts on the Oscars 2014. I am really trying to get into this social media thing. Who knew talking to yourself would be so much fun, and that actual people you don’t know think you are funny? If you don’t already, follow me. Talk to me! #FF me!

I don’t know if it was the champagne, PMS, or my recent aura reading of “being in compassionate love“, but last evening’s Oscars was by far my favorite in memory. Everyone looked amazing, I can’t really say that I had a moment where I was like “noooo”. Although I didn’t entirely get through all of the movies, I did see most of them and I do think that had something to do with me emotionally connecting to each nominee. I didn’t feel strongly on who would win because honestly, everyone kicked ass in their performances this year, except for a few I think were total deserved of the win. Below are my Ten, best of’s, commentary, and favorite moments. Did you have any?

1. Next year I am composing a Fantasy Oscar Winner Bowl because clearly I was on the money and would like to win money for my intuitions. I was strongly rooting for Jared Leto in Dallas Buyers Club for Best Supporting Actor, Matthew McConaughey (btw that is super hard to spell) for Best Actor in Dallas Buyers Club, and 12 Years a Slave for the Win. I even guessed the “who’s this nominee’s mother” on the #eredcarpetlive correctly. Either I am a good guesser or really pathetic.

2. Didn’t Liza Minelli bare a strong resemblance to Kris Jenner?!

3. Brad Pitt, Matthew McConaughey, Bradley Cooper. Pizza.

4. Jason Sudekis and Olivia Wilde are basically killing it and get my Cutest Couple award. Especially with him taking photos of her bump on the red carpet.

5. Kate Hudson in Versace takes the cake for Best Dressed on the red carpet. She was STUNNING. The low cut gown, Old Hollywood Glam and kept it simple with her accessories.

6. Naomi Watts gets my JNSQ Best of Beauty Award. I loved her focus on brows, beautiful fresh skin, and a sexy red lip that complimented her Calvin Klein gown so well. Her hair was perfect and not overdone. Modern Beauty right there! Totally going after this look for my next event.

7. Lupita Nyongo’s Cinderella moment and coining the color “Nairobi blue”. My prediction for Pantone’s Color of the Year 2015.

8. Literally every time they panned to Sandra Bullock, she seemed to be on the verge of bursting with happy tears.

9. Pharrell getting Meryl to shimmy during his live performance of “Happy”. She is so cool and looked better than ever!

10. Ellen’s now trending and twitter breaking #selfie with some of the nominees. She also wins as Best Host. Yes, she roasted some of the actors, but in a graceful way unlike some other hosts. It seemed everyone was truly having a good time and she was responsible as the energy always trickles down from the host of the ceremony.
