Three Current Favourites: Sweetie Flavoured Lip Balm

Some people have a weakness for pizza, others for triple bacon burgers in McDonalds - but mine, hands down, is a weakness for pick n mix. Give me a bag and ask me to fill it up with colourful bits n bobs and it's happy days. Subconsciously I seem to have been expanding on my obsession with pick n mix and been collecting items to fulfill my other obsession (lip balm) that has a subtle dusting of sugar. Without even realising I've integrated quite a lot of sugary sweet and sweetie-appropriate items into my lip collection, giving me a hit of something mid-afternoon when there's no bonbon in sight. Here are three of my favourite new additions that have been coming with me every day since they were accumulated, in the absence of fizzy cola bottles.

1. Lanolips 101 Ointment in 'Strawberry' (£11.22)
You know you're onto a good thing when three bloggers simultaneously pull out a tube of Lanolips over coffee and start massaging it into their lips. You simply won't get anything as nourishing or soothing as this anywhere else, the tube providing a relatively hard waxy balm that melts between fingers and upon contact with lips. The subtle strawberry scent is incredibly natural too and not overpoweringly artificial, giving you a little sugary boost while helping your lips to look fab.

2. Maybelline Baby Lips in 'Mint Fresh' (£2.99)
Although I never quite understood the obsession with the original collection, feeling they weren't really hydrating my lips and only adding a tint of colour, this reincarnation not only smells of minty chocolate but it actually helps to soothe lips too. It's definitely the best version of Baby Lips I've discovered, especially as it provides no tint and doesn't need to constantly be applied. It's a super lightweight balm that helps to lubricate lips, while giving a hit of minty goodness.

3. Reese's Peanut Butter Flavoured Lip Balm (£1.00)
I nearly had a heart attack when I saw these in Primark. Whenever I'm in NYC I come back with a suitcase full of Reese's Pieces, so this is my dream in a little tube of orangey goodness. The balm smells exactly like the sweets, without being overly sickly sweet, meaning I spend more time smelling it than actually applying it to my lips. Although the scent goes as soon as you apply it, it's a great little pick-me-up with no added calories!
