OPI Angel with a Leadfoot Swatches & Review

Whenever I come across a white nail polish, I’m always curious to find out if it’ll be a Holy Grail one-coater.

So when I got my paws on OPI Angel with a Leadfoot from the Ford Mustang Collection you may remember me doing a Quick Look post on, I had to try it and let you all know my results.

Although I rarely wear white nail polish as a full manicure like I did this time, it’s a staple in any nailphile’s collection.

Why? In addition to using it as a base to brighten up other polishes, it also is very useful for nail art. And, if you franken your own colours, you know that adding white can help to create the ideal pastel.

So…how did it fare in terms of opacity? Follow the White Rabbit! *Hop hop hop*

Colour

Angel with a Leadfoot by OPI is a crisp white that looks as fresh and clean as newly laundered bed sheets.

I know that some people can really rock an all-white manicure, but I just wore this for a day before removing it. It always feels funny wearing white because it brings me back to my high-school days when I used to occasionally paint my nails with White-Out when I got bored in class. Then, I’d doodle over it with colourful pens or markers. Haha, not a good look!

Obviously, OPI Angel with a Leadfoot is way classier than using cheap White-Out, but an all-white manicure just doesn’t make my heart race.

It won’t go to waste, though, because a lot of times when I do nail art (especially the kind where googly eyes are involved), I reach for white nail polish a lot!

Finish

Angel with a Leadfoot by OPI has a creme finish, which is simple and the most versatile.

Application & Formula

Unfortunately, I didn’t find this white OPI nail polish to be anything special. It wasn’t a one-coater – I’m still on the hunt!

The first coat was streaky, as I expected. The second coat helped cover more of my nails, but I still found it streaky. Finally, I applied a third coat and only then was I pleased with the coverage. Three coats for a white is pretty standard.

That being said, the formula glided on easily and didn’t seem to look chalky or dull like some white nail polishes can.

Final Verdict: 5/10

Angel with a Leadfoot by OPI isn’t a bad nail polish, but I just don’t tend to get excited over white cremes, unless they are opaque in a single coat.

I feel like you could buy an inexpensive white nail polish from the drugstore and get the same results. Considering that OPI retails for around $9.95 CAD at most places here, I hold them to a higher standard than polishes at the drugstore.
