World Oceans Day & Biotherm

I automatically associate the ocean to beaches, sand between my toes and the sound of waves. It suddenly occurred to me that I often take these sounds, feelings and sights for granted. For this reason, I’ve taken the opportunity to discuss a really exciting movement by Biotherm for Worlds Ocean day.

World Oceans Day and Biotherm Water Lovers

World Oceans Day has been celebrated internationally since 1992. Across the globe, people join together to act for the ocean’s future in a big way, with more than 400 events in 70 different countries on the calendar for 2014.

Why not combine our love for skincare with an environmental cause, such as protecting oceans?

Biotherm Water Lovers supports Mission Blue by creating a strong sustainable water plan. They have a minimum 90% biodegradability target for new rinse-off formulas, 100% FSC certified cardboard packaging, and are now introducing naturally-derived particles in their skin scrubs.

My favourite place in the world is West Bay in Roatan, Honduras. I am of Honduran heritage so it might seem a little bias, but there is no denying how gorgeous the crystal clear waters are in the Bay Islands. In the future when I have children (God willing), I would love to bring them to this place. Preservation is key.

I intend on visiting Cayos Cochinos, Honduras one day (high up on my bucket list). It is composed of islands that are a Marine Protected Area and form part of the world’s second largest coral reef system known as the Meso-American Barrier Reef.

World Oceans Day – How to get involved on June 8th 2014

Biotherm in partnership with Mission Blue, is proud to annouce their 2014 World Oceans Day campaign. Marking the world’s largest celebration of the ocean on June 8th, Biotherm Water Lovers.

Devoted to the protection and preservation of the world’s waters, they have created 2 charity campaigns to give people a chance to help preserve oceans.

1. First, simply upload an ocean picture – through the Biotherm Water Lovers Gallery Facebook app inspired by the theme “Water Lovers”; it can be a photo of a breathtaking ocean view, a mountain lake, a city river – anything that shows a love for water.

For every thematic water photo posted all week starting June 8th, Biotherm Water Lovers will donate $1 to Mission Blue. Post and view the gallery on Facebook.

and/or

2. The second way to get involved is by purchasing products online on World Oceans Day weekend at Biotherm. Bioherm Water Lovers donates $10 for every online sale.

Use promo code: stealingbeauty at the end your order to get a free Aquasource gel 20ml, Aquasource deep serum 7ml and Biosource Lotion 30ml for an estimated value of $30.

What does the ocean mean to you? Let me know if you shared a picture, I’d love to see it.

xx
