Purim Cocktails with byejoe: Fortune Cookie Shots!

A Chinese inspired shot for Purim or St. Paddy’s! byejoe Fortune Cookie Shots!

My mom told me to stop talking about drinking so much on the blog. And I promised I would. After Purim of course! Happy Purim! A holiday where you are supposed to get so sloshed you can’t tell the difference between Mordecai and Haman. In honor of one of my favorite holidays (who am I kidding, they are all my favorites) here is a special cocktail for the occasion. Fortune Cookie Shots!

These shots contains a new-to-the-American-market-but-has-been-cool-everywhere-else-for-centuries liquor called byejoe, a spin of China’s ancient spirit baijiu. Baijiu is to China as tequila is to Mexico or vodka is to Russia or Natty Light is to college frat parties. Kind of a big deal. It’s actually the most consumed beverage in the world. A billion cases are consumed each year! byejoe imports small batches of baijiu from China, and then filters it again in the U.S.A, The result is an ultra premium spirit, that is smooth and perfect on its own or in cocktails.

How cute is their packaging! And the coolest thing is byjoe was started by a Hasidic Jew. Mazel! This spirit is distilled from fermented sorghum using patented technology. After the fermentation, byejoe undergoes a natural filtration process that reduces unwanted congeners (e.g. chemicals that contribute to your hangover). So it’s smooth, tasty, gluten free, and even low in calories. Enough chatting, onto the drinkies!

I love this Fortune Cookie Shot for many reasons. First, it’s perfect for Purim. And perfect for Jews like me who love Chinese food. And with the Bailey’s, it’s perfect for St Paddy’s too! To make it, pour 1 oz. byejoe and 1 oz. Amaretto with ice in a shaker. Shake and pour into shot glasses. Top with Bailey’s and drink immediately so the Bailey’s doesn’t curdle. Just like a car bomb!

Find your own byejoe here. And follow them on Facebook and Twitter for tasty recipes and more! This is a sponsored post. Thanks for reading and supporting these posts so I can bring you more tasty recipes!
