CHAMPAGNE SPRING
It’s now two years in a row I’ve happened to be in California on the first day of Spring. Something brings me back here at this time of year, yearning for the outdoors and the sun I know I’ll always find in these parts. As usual, leave it to me to have a bit of France follow me home. This time, in the form of something ideal for sharing: champagne. On the first day of Spring, I gathered the girls in the garden to enjoy something extra special, Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque Edition Première. This isn’t my first Perrier-Jouët champagne. I hold The House close to my heart after many years of collaborating with them on projects. I’ve travelled to Épernay to discover their historic cellars, their legacy and appreciation of the arts at their Maison Belle Epoque, and their thriving vineyards. The poetry of such a brand, in and out of the bottle is exceptional, unmatched in taste and feeling by any other. Something I am reminded of each time I have the pleasure of sharing a bottle of Perrier-Jouët in great company. On the first day of Spring Rachel, Christina, and Gabby joined me for an enchanted afternoon in the garden, reminiscent of all that the Belle Epoque Edition Première set out to capture, Spring’s pleasures fresh and blooming for all of us to enjoy.
BELLE EPOQUE EDITION PREMIERE
On March 21st, Perrier-Jouët released their new champagne Belle Epoque Edition Première. This brand new, limited release wine celebrates the arrival of Spring. A brut champagne, 2007 vintage cuvée is a seasonal offering available for the next two to three months. Selected to pair perfectly with Spring menus and occasions, it is rare, ephemeral, fresh and sophisticated.
