Our Little Secret

I think it's time I let you all in on a little secret I've been keeping for a while now. This was both the easiest and the hardest secret I've ever had to keep. On one hand, we were freaking out about the whole thing and not quite ready for the steady stream of input and advice that we are sure to get. However, on the other hand, we kind of wanted to shout it from the rooftops. And now we're finally ready.

Sean and I are having a baby! Come September, we'll officially be a family of three!

We've told our families and a few close friends so I thought I'd share some answers to some of the questions I've had so far.

How far along?
I'm 14 weeks along, or 3.5 months for those who, like me before I got pregnant, don't really understand the count by weeks thing. That means I'm officially in the second trimester. We've had a couple of doctors appointments already so we've seen and heard our baby. Seriously cool experience.

How am I feeling?
Simply put: tired. I blame my lack of posts lately on this symptom alone! But overall, the last couple of weeks have been an improvement over the months before it. I'll take a little exhaustion and occasional headaches over the constant nausea-inducing headaches and constant tears of the first trimester. On the emotional side, my fear has mostly given way to excitement.

Currently craving?
All I want to eat is ice cream and/or frozen yogurt. That in itself isn't really a new or strange occurrence for me, what is different is the frequency of which I want to eat it.

Currently missing?
Sushi. Not being able to eat sushi is pretty much the saddest thing of my life. Oh how I miss spicy tuna. And not being able to eat it just makes me want it more.

Aversions?
Coffee! The taste and smell of coffee is absolutely repugnant to me now. Also, though I'm still loving spicy foods, this baby absolutely does not care for it one bit. It's totally Sean's baby!

Wearing maternity clothes?
Some, mostly pants. I just don't feel like having waistbands press on my belly. The biggest thing I need to do for my wardrobe right now is get my hands on some maternity fitness wear. Most of my current gym attire is just not cutting it anymore. Has anyone found any tried and true collections out there that they'd recommend? Let me know!

Have any questions? Feel free to leave a comment and you may see it in a future update!
