Phenomenally
Hey there lovelies!! I don’t know how many of you participate in the #WCW (Woman Crush Wednesday) trend on social media; I have a time or two. Nonetheless, last week, one of the teen girls I mentor at church named me her #WCW, calling me a “phenomenal woman.” :-) I was so surprised and truly touched that she would think enough of me to share my picture with her IG friends (you know how teens are, lol) and even more so that she thinks I’m phenomenal. I certainly think myself pretty awesome, but I can’t say phenomenal is a term I’ve used to describe myself, but I will from now on! This also, got me thinking about one of my and everyone’s favor Maya Angelou poems, “Phenomenal Woman.”
Phenomenal Woman by Dr. Maya Angelou Pretty women wonder where my secret lies. I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size But when I start to tell them, They think I’m telling lies. I say, It’s in the arch of my back, The sun of my smile, The ride of my breasts, The grace of my style. I’m a woman Phenomenally. Phenomenal woman, That’s me.
