7 Fall Fragrances We’re Lusting After

Fall marks a transitional time in the year—while most people use January 1 to mark the start of something new in their lives, others take this season as a note to get a new daily planner, reset their healthy routine and, most importantly, switch up their fragrance wardrobe.

While light and airy scents are certainly still necessary this time of year, headier, sexier and warmer fragrances start rolling in with the shorter days and longer nights, so with that in mind, we’ve rounded up seven fall fragrances that we’ll be cozying up with all chilly weather season long.

Calvin Klein Reveal Eau de Parfum, $85 (1.7oz)

This fragrance gives sexy a whole new meaning. Calvin Klein is no stranger to creating lusty fragrances, and this “solar oriental” scent is no exception. The raw salt signature lends itself to a dewy skin-like essence (meant to embody you-know-what), while the pink-white-black pepper trio adds a bit of spice to the fragrance. Mix in some edible notes like orris, ambergris, solar accord, sandalwood, cashmeran and vetiver and you have the recipe for a cozy—and sultry—night in. Available at thebay.com.

L’Occitane Arlésienne Eau de Toilette, $48 (2.5oz)

Soft and feminine, this scent exudes an essence of clean skin—not overtly in-your-face-sexy, though not entirely innocent either. The antidote to the spice-dominated season, the delicate bouquet of saffron, mandarin orange, rose, lily of the valley, violet, sandalwood and tonka bean has a spa-like scent to it, further enhanced with all of the luxury products available in the collection. Whether opting for the airy eau de toilette, the moisturizing Body Oil or the skin-quenching Beauty Milk, this scent showcases simple sensuality. Available December 2014 at thebay.com.

Prada Candy Florale Eau de Toilette, $85 (1.7oz)

The original Prada Candy is a cult favourite—untouchable, unmatchable, unsurpassable. The longtime Candy wearer in this writer wondered if a floral version could be successful was skeptical, yet Prada Candy Florale seemed to accomplish what they sought to create: A flirty, girlier to the edible saccharine older sister. With its zesty notes of cedrat and cosmos melding with the classic caramel-benzoin-musk trifecta of the original Candy, this spritz brings out a coquette appeal: playful and fun, with sexiness swimming just below the surface. Available at sephora.com.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream Eau de Toilette, $85 (1.7oz)

Not your typical fall fragrance, Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream reminds us that this season doesn’t need to be reserved for leather, but that a bit of lace and daydreaming will still do us some good. A breath of fresh air on an otherwise cold day, the fruity-floral cocktail adds a dose of fun with top notes of blackberry, grapefruit and pear; a heart of jasmine, lychee and blue wisteria; and a base of white woods, musk and coconut water. Available at sephora.com.

he Body Shop Red Musk Eau de Parfum, $37 (2oz)

You know when a fragrance boasts “no flowers, only spices” it’s going to be hot, hot, hot. To say this fragrance is sexy would be putting it mildly—and it’s worth noting there’s nothing mild about the level of heat in this scent. Perfectly ensconced in the fiery red flacon, the spicy concoction of tobacco, pepper and cinnamon—notes typically found in men’s fragrances—is the epitome of fall and sexiness and with one whiff you won’t even care about the cold weather. Available at thebodyshop.ca.

Burberry My Burberry Eau de Parfum, $98 (1.7oz)

Meant to embody a London garden after the rain, this fragrance is a generous bouquet of florals (including sweet pea, rose and freesia), but with the right touches of green notes—courtesy of the less-sweet geranium leaf and patchouli notes—it manages to steer clear of the spring-only stigma notorious to floral scents. Like many of the flowers that grace this lovely scent, this spritz is perennial and timeless and an instant modern classic. Available at thebay.com.

Givenchy Dahlia Divin Eau de Parfum, $105 (1.7oz)

Upon first whiff, I fell in love. While this decadent fragrance is certainly its own force to be reckoned with, it has a similar aroma to another iconic Givenchy fragrance, Haute Couture. While Givenchy has certainly lent some notes from one scent to another, Dahlia Divin has a refined elegance that breathes sophisticated sensuality—and is no doubt courtesy of the creamy spun gold essence infused in this fragrance. Mirabelle plum, a white flower bouquet, sandalwood, vetiver and patchouli meld together for a timeless lush, heady and woodsy scent that will become a staple for classy soirees and late-night rendezvous. Available at sephora.com.
