Rochelle New

second star to the right

I want to thank everyone for your kind words and suggestions on my last post (so many of us have the same favorite shows!!). I’ve been losing my mind not being able to do the things I used to do, especially without pain, but I’m trying to keep my chin up and not be such a sourpuss about it. My blog isn’t going anywhere, I’ll just be checking in a little less frequently since I can’t sew as fast as I used to, and I’m not supposed to be typing. …oops. I’m looking into a dictation software called William Waldon: Best Boyfriend Ever, but he’s not able to help me right this minute so I’ll have to make this quick!

With a daily cap on how many hours I’m allowed to use my hands, I’ve been looking at sewing projects that are more simple with less pieces. I’ve also been concentrating more on my role as “director of blog photography” to channel some hands-free creativity mojo outside of my sewing room. Yesterday I was bored out of my mind and desperate to force some of my creative energy into something, so I spent a good few hours bossing Wil around in a state forest. He’s a really good sport about it.

More Photos, Less Typing is going to become a common theme on my blog as I work through these wrist issues. I’ve even considered a post series where I share some photos I’ve taken with no text at all. We’ll see I suppose, but I do know for sure that I’ll be sewing a lot of sleeveless tunics for the foreseeable future! I hope you like this outfit because it’s pretty much going to be my winter uniform.

I’ll leave you with a nerdy outtake…

Me – “Do I look like a serious wizard?” Wil – *laughing* “I love that you just asked me that and you’re not joking.”

p.s. my brother saw this outfit and told me I look like Mad Max Peter Pan so I guess Post Apocalyptic Woodland Faerie is my new signature style. I’m totally okay with that.

Second star to the right and straight on til morning

p.p.s – we did a pretty good job of hiding my stupid wrist braces in all of these shots! Yes!
