REVIEW: Benefit Gimme Brow in Light/Medium

So brows are, in my opinion, one of the key elements to make up; they can really make a look complete. Like many redheads, I have quite fair eyebrows, and yet because my hair is a very dark auburn, for me it's super important I have groomed eyebrows, otherwise my eyes would get a little lost!

With the above said, I can't say I have tried too many brow products, normally it's always been a random brow powder that matched my hair colour (if it matches I tend to stick to it for ages and ages!). Currently I use MAC's 'Cork' eye shadow with a Real Techniques (or angled brush, really) angled brush and that has currently been working really, really well for a good year and a bit now, however it can get a teeny bit time consuming. You know, if you can get a minute or two knocked off in the mornings, it all adds up! I have seen so many brow gels around but they've all been far too dark for me, so when I saw this new release from Benefit, I was very intrigued indeed.

Benefit describe their newest product 'Gimme Brow' as an, 'innovative brush-on fiber gel (that) adheres to skin and hair…creating brows where before there were none. It builds easily for thick, lush arches, thanks to a tapered brush for blending and precision tip for shaping.'

'Gimme Brow' comes in two shades: light/medium or medium/dark. I tried this at the counter because I was really skeptical if it would suit me, but instantly found the light/medium shade being perfect for me. The next day I excitedly came to use it and wasn't so in love. The brush is truly minuscule and so it is perfect for really getting into the hairs, but at the same time, I think I find my angle brush more precise and I was a bit frustrated I couldn't get the same results.

The new next day however I persevered and from the second application I had a total 360 change of opinion and now I can tell you I LOVE it! You see, I am a creature of comfort, I don't cope with change, and I was just so used to my brow powder and brush combo. Now I have gotten used to it, it's really a dream to use and so easy. It literally take 30 seconds to get brow perfection. It's just so, so easy. I adore it when I'm in a rush.

I would say however that if you have sparse, thin brows that need a lot of filling in this product is not for you. If however you have thick, full brows that require minimal grooming this would be amazing for you. I sweep it through my brows to deepen the color, fill in spaces that are slightly sparser, and set hairs in place. It looks natural and effortless yet groomed, and is perfect for daily wear. Have an eye brow comb on hand to groom them into shape and you're all set. It's waterproof and extremely long-lasting with no fade whatsoever on me by the end of the day, and I don't 'feel' it at all in my eye brows. It's so lightweight. Colour wise I think the light/medium shade is the perfect ashy colour for blondes and for redheads like myself. You can build the colour too so it's very versatile. The above after photo is a few applications.

My only two problems with this product would be a) that it can be potentially a teeny bit messy if you pick up too much product (this can of course be avoided if you're careful) and b) the price. This retails for £17.50 and it is teeny tiny. Because I want to use it every single day because it's so easy-peasy to use I'm really worried how long this will last me. Half of me wants to keep it for quick make up days but to be honest, that's a reality every day!

So overall despite the price I seriously like this. I actually luckily got it on my Boots points this time, that was partly the reason I tried it, but I would definitely re-purchase.
