DIY Photobooth Strip Scrapbook

I never met a photobooth I didn’t like. I’m pretty sure you guys know this about me (see Exhibit A and B.) I just love hopping into a booth and snapping some photos — and photostrips are usually among the only souvenirs I’ll bring back from a trip or adventure. Mr. Lovely, luckily, is a fan as well. And over the years we’ve amassed quite the collection of photostrips. The problem is that now they’re floating everywhere and I’m losing track of them. So I decided to get a little organized and put together a makeshift scrapbook, with just a note or two about when and where each photostrip came from.

Materials

  • photostrips
  • washi tape
  • double stick tape
  • paper scraps and various stickers or stamps
  • pen
  • Make Time: 1 Hour (minimum; the fancier you get, the longer it’ll take)

Now let’s not get it twisted — I’m no scrapbooker. I’m not good at it and I don’t have the patience for it. But what I do have the patience for is to stick some paper scraps on a page and tape a photostrip on top of them. So that’s essentially what’s happening here. This little tutorial is more like encouragement for you non-scrapbookers to get your photostrips into one spot. On a related note, check out the mess that our photos were in before this little project:

    Yikes.

Basically, it goes like this: choose a scrap of paper for a background and use double-stick tape to affix it to the page. Use washi tape to affix a photostrip on the top of it. Embellish with a couple of stamps or stickers, and then write the date and place where you took the photos.

That’s it! Add to it as you take more photos and you won’t lose track of those beautiful little strips of photos. By the way, don’t you just love the classic strips? The new fancy photobooths are cool, but I still favor those old, black and white grainy strips that take forever to print and come out kind of wet so you have to wave them around to dry. Those are just the best. Have fun! xoxo
