Making the Walls Happy

I love to rearrange our house around all the time. One day these pillows are over there, then the chairs move, then the art gets all switched around. Kind of keeps me from getting bored. I recently received this totally lovely print from Cardelucci and it was just begging me to move the stuff on the walls to make some room for it. So I did the ol’ wall art shuffle and gave it the perfect spot above the bar cart.

I’m just so taken by the colors in this print — I’m hoping that in the new house we can find a way to work it into the little guy’s nursery! The photographer, Jessica Cardelucci, has this way of capturing California scenes that reminds me of how much I love my home state. The light in her photos is insane. She also prints her images directly onto bamboo panels, which gives them this extra texture that looks so great under the photographs. (Her focus on sustainability and her love of the natural beauty she photographs make for a really amazing combination.) I got caught flipping through all of the images on her site and had to bookmark a few of my faves. I just love how they capture the actual feeling of being there inside the photo.

Balboa Fun Zone. Honolulu Dreams. Feathered. Goldenrod.

So that baby got popped up over the bar cart, which obviously gave me a reason to get to shuffle the goodies on the cart around a bit too. (It’s one of my favorite games when I’m procrastinating doing work.) I grabbed some enormous gladiolus from Trader Joe’s, with which I immediately accidentally smacked Mr. Lovely in the face because they were so huge, and then I decided that they looked pretty awesome with the new artwork. But I digress. (Baby bump alert in that second photo down there.)

You have to see the rest! Check out Jessica’s online shop – I’d love to know which images are your favorites (this one happens to be her fave because it’s the beach where her husband proposed!). There are so many really fantastic shots, but I think the Crystal Cove piece is hands down my fave. Those colors just get to me! Can’t wait to find the perfect spot for it in our new digs and make our walls super happy. Thanks Jessica! xoxo
