comfort uniform

Oh winter, you have a strange effect on me! Apparently down-dressing seems to be my motto this time of year. Every single morning I look in the mirror to start my little pep talk: come on Mrs. K put a little effort into your outfit! But after just 5 minutes all the good intentions are gone. It's cold and rainy outside, but unfortunately not cold enough to call it a proper winter. And on top of that we still haven't seen snow flakes taking over Belgium. The down side of it all? All this wetness is disastrous for my morning routine and it simply kills my inspiration. So the only things I seem to pull out of my closet are comfort clothes. Comfort as in coffee or alcohol or a good girl talk. I just want to feel okay and my comfort uniform does the trick. Can you think of any easier kind of clothing than a pair of jeans and an oversized sweater? I don't think so. Another advantage, this kind of look prevents mood swings and this benefits my loved ones.
There is only one warning or piece of advice I need to add! Don't stay 'in the zone' for too long and come out of your comfort zone every once in a while. Be a fashion daredevil and create some unexpected combinations. And this is why they invented fashion week(s), simply to force us to come out of our comfort zone and put in a little effort! C'est simple comme bonjour as my mother would say.
