A Trip to Big Buddha - Hong Kong, China

I had the amazing opportunity to travel to China for work, where we met with manufacturers, toured factories, reviewed new product for Spring 2014, and worked alongside a talented design team for future product. It was an incredible learning experience both professionally and personally, as my eyes and mind were opened to so many new things. My favorite thing about travel is the new perspective you gain on life, along with an appreciation for other cultures. China is a very beautiful country.
Hong Kong is a very large city with a crazy skyline of building after building. We had a free morning one day, so we ventured to see The Big Buddha. You take a tram over the water, across the lushest scenery, and drop off at the very top of a mountain where there is a Buddhist monastery. It was so beautiful, and SO hot! I was shedding the layers I wore that day, and sweating more than I ever have in any place I've visited. The humidity felt like it was at 100%. But seeing Big Buddha was definitely worth the uncomfortableness. He stands tall, and sits with his legs crossed, arm raised, and delivers a blessing to all who visit. This was definitely one of my favorite experiences from the trip.
