Who better to help keep your closet on the nice list than the always fab Rad and Refined with funky, fresh, staples that will keep you looking nice for years to come.
Here are a few naughty trends that Rad and Refinedand I can easily help to reform!
Naughty: “Matchy Mannequin.” If you check the mirror and you look perfect. Stop. Go back into your closet. Switch one of your items out for something that goes but doesn’t match. I know you’ve heard me preach about this cardinal sin before but you sinners need saving and I won’t be ending my sermon anytime soon.
Making it Nice: The Mix. A mixy not matchy look keeps everything from our closets in rotation and expands any wardrobe to the max (totally). Most of all, an eclectic ensemble is a feast for the eyes.
The addition of a bright, vintage tee becomes a basic with big potential. Just add the top or bottom of your choice. Pair it with black tuxedo pants and a cropped cardi. Finish the look with a pendant necklace of your choice. “Casual Chic” at it’s finest.

Naughty: Awful Outerwear - more specifically FLEECE. Yes, we all own something fleece. No, you don’t have to adopt it as your sole piece of outerwear. When there’s a chill in the air and you’re grabbing a jacket, it’s going to be the first thing people notice about your ensemble (unless you’re not wearing pants.) But seriously, enough of the fleece. I don’t care if you’re 16 or 66. Please burn it in the fireplace after Santa makes his descent on Christmas Eve.
Making it Nice:Interesting outerwear. I realize that you may have just come from the gym and that’s fine. Good for you. May your buns be tighter and your heart stronger. But if you’re out and about after your spin class, distract from your gym attire with something different. And if you’re just out and about, funk it up. Make it fun.
An over-sized sweater or sweatshirt and funky scarf can be casual and cool. And a cropped black Leather jacket goes with anything, anything, anything and everything. Sometimes I bring some boots along after my sweat-sessions. Switch gym shoes for boots and those black stretch-pants take on a whole, new look.
Whether you’re in sunny Los Angeles or somewhere in Suburbia, have a wonderful holiday season!
