Satchel time

I’ve been dying to buy a satchel / postman bag. The one that I really wanted (by Clio Goldbrenner) was beyond my budget.

So … I made my own.

The b/f had an old leather jacket that he was willing to part with for materials (although I think he may have been under the impression that I was going to make a leather mini skirt out of it - well anyway - I got started).

I had already made a satchel so I used a similar pattern. But then I did something totally new: I added a lining, with the leftover material from my pink skirt - its amazing what having a sewing machine makes possible.

The end result is slightly larger than most of the bags I carry normally so it feels super roomy.

The shoulder strap is a bit too long, I may have to adjust it…

The front flap is slightly asymmetrical and the hardware is gold. (I’m still really feeling gold jewelry - I need to take a photo of my earrings right now - all gold)
