I My Colortopia-ed My House

I'm sure many of y'all have heard of My Colortopia. Some of the better known blogs have been talking about it for a while now. Since we'll hopefully be painting our house this summer, I wanted to test out a few colors without actually painting test samples on our house and making it look like a giant ugly quilt. You're welcome, neighbors! I decided to check out My Colortopia to see if it could help us decide on what we liked and reaffirm our thoughts on what we knew we totally hated (hello pink!).

I'll be honest, It's not the easiest site to navigate. There's LOTS of clicking involved. Basically you browse 'suggested' color combos (most of which where kinda funky...but I REALLY liked the color options that Stephanie from Brooklyn Limestone picked!) or take a personality test to figure out what colors best describe you. They provide color groupings and you have to click, drag, and drop those into a folder of saved colors (confusing at first) then you upload a picture and mark off the areas that you would like to paint... that part was surprisingly easy compared to other sites that let you 'paint' your own pictures. Lastly you 'paint' the picture with one group of colors at a time which is highly frustrating. You have to save that picture and then go back to the beginning to select a different set of colors to paint. Like I said before. Lots and lots (and lots) of clicking around.
Anywho, here's were all that clicking got me...
One of my favorites, Shaded Fern. I love the dark walls against the white trim and black door.

Leather Brown...

Wild Truffle... Love!

Onyx (one of Brooklyn Limestone's picks) love love LOVE.... but not very realistic.

Ground Nutmeg...

Softest Juniper.....eh

Crisp Autumn Leaves.

Mountain Slate...I don't hate it.

And just for funzies, Barely Blush. Yikes

Have any of y'all tried out My Colortopia?
