Through the Rearview: October 2013
Not too much happened along the avenue in October, but before we temporarily relocate to our island in the Sea of Shoes — currently owe $36.00 for the next six months’ worth of hosting; cannot go back to month-to-month until it is paid (host won’t let me downgrade); no money to spare at this time to bring everything current — here’s what has disappeared through the rearview mirror in October:
- Celebrated Halloween/Nightmare Night as only the avenue can
- Celebrated the life and art of Lou Reed, too
- Began writing for The Truth About Cars again as a paid stringer; also sometimes write under the collective pseudonym TTAC Staff
- Finally went to the top of the Space Needle, all thanks to the GSBA Women on Top networking event
- Collected my 100th Facebook fan; no prizes for that, alas
- Stopped writing above the title card
- And finally, witnessed my violet-eyed cult shatter the one-day pageview record set by the bronies in April of 2012
Until we meet again, I leave you with Tank & Mary Nine — two industrial dance tacticians in Seattle known for their work on YouTube — in a performance video filmed at Sakura-Con, held at the Washington State Convention Center this past April. The soundtrack to the film belongs to German EBM artists (:SITD:), and is entitled “Redemption.” All the best to you.
