DIY leaf bowl

Good morning! Things have been a little quiet around here because I’m actually finishing up my new site design! More soon… I can’t wait to share it with you after a very long time coming!

For now, I’m excited to share this fun fall project. I’ve been trying to make our bungalow more festive to celebrate this beautiful season. First, I had this acorn project idea…but I quickly learned that it is really difficult to find acorns in a land of city squirrels. Ha! Plus, it turns out craft stores don’t sell acorns (that I could find at least). So I moved on…I got this idea using leaves that I just couldn’t escape. I used fake leaves so that it could could last more than one season and they were a bit easier to work with.

This DIY leaf bowl involved some serious craft time. I wish I took some photos while in progress, when my hands were covered with glue as I placed leaves (not always so patiently) onto an inflated balloon. Nick may have laughed at me in the midst of my craziness. But I’m so happy with how this turned out. Worth it, don’t you think?

This sculptural bowl was super cheap and would make pretty and unique Thanksgiving decor! I plan to leave mine out until I get sick of the colors (which is pretty unlikely), or I guess maybe until the snow of winter really sets in.

Check out my post on The Neighborhood for full instructions. :)

I’ll be back soon with an exciting new look! We’re hard at work behind the scenes and I can hardly wait.

Hope you’re having a great week!
