life lately | bungalow Christmas

This weekend we had a little snowstorm so it was a good reason to stay home and cozy up inside. It was so nice to relax and work on projects at home, especially after being sick. We had the Christmas music blaring and the house sure does feel full of cheer.

Here are a few scenes from the weekend and how Christmas is shaping up around here, if you’d like to see…

As I mentioned, our first real tree is super simple this year. I made some colorful garlands out of patterned paper straws (cut in thirds) and wooden beads in between. (I got this great idea from the December issue of Better Homes and Gardens.)

We needed stockings and I really couldn’t find any store-bought stockings that I love. Eventually I hope to knit our own, but for now I adore these vintage stockings that I found on Etsy. They feel like a classic Christmas, don’t you think?

How was your weekend? Are you feeling ready for the holidays? I still have more shopping to do, but I feel so much better after making significant progress this weekend.

Hope you’re staying warm! xo
