Healthy 4th of July Desserts + LINKY PARTY

Today: TIME FOR A (linky) PARTY! As my input to today’s party, I’m showcasing an assortment of easy, healthy 4th of July desserts. We CAN stick to a diet or weight control plan. Even on a 4th of July party. The decision is ours. I have prepared 8 different healthy dessert options to enjoy at the Fourth of July barbecue party.

Healthy 4th of July Desserts

This first Healthy Fourth of July Desserts is my own creation.

The creamy texture of 0% fat Greek yoghurt is simple, natural and luxurious. Serve it with blueberries. And red raspberries. Garnish with a twig of mint.

Healthy 4th of July Desserts #2 is a trifle of chia, granola and yoghurt. It is topped with blueberries and pomegranate seed.

Did you know that chia curbs your appetite? It has a range of other health benefits as well.

Healthy 4th of July Dessert #3 is simply natural.

A handful of cherries and a peach in a cheery blue kitchen bowl make for a fun vitamin-rich afternoon snack. There’s something to natural about cherries freshly picked from the tree with some of the leaves still on. It instills that wonderful vacation feeling mixed with a sense of abundance. I’d eat that! (in fact, I did!)

Healthy 4th of July Dessert #4 goes in the blender.

Go for an all-berry smoothie of non-fat milk. Add health-boosting toppings like flax seed and protein powder.

If you have this about 1/2 an hour before the big cook-out, your appetite will be curbed just in the nick of time to be able to avoid all the full-fat and sugar-loaded options.

Healthy 4th of July Dessert #5 is a frozen yoghurt strawberry cake, topped with granola crumble.

These pictures speak for themselves.

Need I say more? Go for non-fat yoghurt and minimized the sugar added and it will be as healthy as it gets. Extend your gratitude to the host and bring this cake to the barbeque party.

This next healthy 4th of July dessert, #6, is really original.

Another healthy Fourth of July dessert idea is this watermelon cake. Again, ensure that whatever is ‘white’ is low-fat yoghurt rather than full-fat whip cream, and you’ll be fine.

Fresh and original Fourth of July cake. I am curious as to what it would taste like.

Healthy 4th of July Dessert option #7:

This truly patriotic dessert is festive and healthful. The chocolate cover makes it a tat decadent. And so does the blue-tinted sugar sprinkles.

But most of this 4th of July dessert is fresh fruit, so overall, it’s a healthy option.

Chocolate covered strawberries.

Healthy 4th of July Dessert option #8:

Did you know that you can make your own strawberry fruit roll-ups?

This fourth of July candy-for-adults is essentially just homemade dried fruit, rolled up on parchment paper.

I will take a few hours in the oven, but it is not difficult at all!
