Review + Swatches: Topshop Gloss Inks
I admit it, I am a little (a lot!) late in getting this post up! I excitedly went to Topshop around the time these were released and picked up these three gorgeous shades. But only now am I getting around to sharing them with you all. It really is a shame though as I've been loving them - both for the formula and the stunning colours that they come in. I hope you can forgive me though and that we can make up for lost time!

As always I've included a summary at the end :)
The Basics I can't decide whether I like the packaging or not, they do look very nice in their stripey matte/glossy black. But it does make the different colours less identifiable - although there are
colour coded stickers on the bottom. Each one has
4g of product in it, which is applied with a standard
doe-foot applicator. In total there are
5 shades available - I have three to show you here today though, Cruel, Smitten & Sloe Gin. Each is priced at
£8 and available from Topshop - obviously!
The Formula The formula of these is quite unlike any other lip product I've tried before. It's got a
strong pigment to it which
applies evenly to the lips. I wouldn't say that they're completely transfer resistant, but it's definitely less than I would expect. Especially considering how glossy these are! This helps to keep them on the lips longer - I get around
5 hours wear from these, although they don't last brilliantly through eating. They also
stain the lips though which helps the colour to last longer, especially with the deepest shade I have, Cruel. For those wondering I haven't found that these dry my lips out at all. There is also a
strong vanilla scent to these, so if you're sensitive to smells you may want to have a whiff first!
Smitten - This is a gorgeous neon pink with slight coral undertones to it. It does have a slight shimmer to it if you look very closely, but this can't be seen on the lips - which begs the question, why put it in there?!
Sloe Gin - Love the name! This looks very similar to Smitten in the tube, but upon swatching there is definitely a difference! Sloe Gin has a warm purple undertone to it and again that invisible shimmer! It also benefits from being a bright, so perfect for summer!
Cruel - This is like Benetint on steroids! It's the same gorgeous berry shade, with a strong, rich red tone to it. Again this one has the invisible shimmer, violet coloured in this case!
The Good - Pigmented, beautiful colours, long-lasting, not drying, very glossy.
The Not so Good - Strong vanilla scent may put some people off.
Would I Repurchase? Well I have three don't I! Although I do have my eye on Sugar Rush too!
Price & Availability - £8 each,
Topshop.
It's nice to review something a little different, it's usually lipsticks and lipglosses. But these are rich and pigmented with a super glossy finish. They feel very luxurious, despite the very reasonable price! Definitely something I'm going to keep hold of! Are you tempted to pick any up?
