Review + Swatches: Essence Blush Up! Powder Blush - Heat Wave (10)

Sometimes you just see things and they are so pretty that it's almost impossible to leave them on the shelf. Especially at such a bargain price! Since buying this beauty I have worn it pretty much constantly so it's about time shared some of my thoughts with you on it - if you didn't catch my huge Essence haul showing you just some of their many products available, then you can find it here - link. Nothing cost over £4 in my haul (palettes and all!), so definitely something to check out if you're on a budget!

As always I've included a summary at the end :)

The Basics The packaging on this is pretty simple side, but very sturdy - there'll be no worries about chucking this in my bag! In also like that it's clear so you can see the beauty that is within. With this beauty you get 8g of product, a good amount for a blush! I have it in 10 - Heat Wave, but there is also another shade available which has two different pinks in - but I couldn't resist the sunset! This is available from Wilkinsons for £3.50 (currently on 3for2).

The Formula For such a bargain price I've been really impressed with this. It's not silky soft to the touch, but my brush has no problem picking the blush up with my brush (I use a duo-fibre blush brush). It does take a little work to blend in, so if you're used to really good quality blushes this may frustrate you. I find that buffing a bit of powder over the top helps to make it look a bit more natural - from the blending and colour point of view! The longevity of this is fantastic, I put this on at 8am this morning and as I sit here typing at 8pm it is still visible, obviously not as strong, but colour is still visible.

Colour & Pigmentation When I look at this I see three colours. We have quite a bright orange on the left hand side, which leads into a bright coral. Then on the right we have a bright, warm toned pink. All with a matte finish. I tend to just swirl my brush through the whole thing and get a pretty coral shade (which is what I'm wearing in the picture). If you want to use just the orange or pink, this is totally doable, you just need to use a smaller brush. The pigmentation is also very good, £3.50 well spent!

The Good - Cheap, value, sturdy packaging, pigmented, long lasting, 3 shades in one.
The Not so Good - Not the easiest to blend, texture is a little chalky.
Price & Availability - £3.50, Wilkinsons.
