Review + Swatches: Essence 3D Eyeshadow - Irresistible Chocolates
3D? Chocolate? I just wanted an eyeshadow! All (bad) jokes aside I've actually been pretty impressed with what I've tried from Essence since making
a rather large order when the brand FINALLY became available in the UK earlier this year! I'm slowly working through sharing everything with you, we'll get there!
// var _gaq = _gaq || (); _gaq.push(('_setAccount', 'UA-37824282-1')); _gaq.push(('_trackPageview')); (function() { var ga = document.createElement('script'); ga.type = 'text/javascript'; ga.async = true; ga.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ? 'https://ssl' : 'http://www') '.google-analytics.com/ga.js'; var s = document.getElementsByTagName('script')(0); s.parentNode.insertBefore(ga, s); })(); //
As always I've included a summary at the end :)
The BasicsThese 3D eyeshadows look so pretty in the packaging, like the patterns in the sand when you go to the beach. Less grainy though! These little eyeshadows actually contain
two different shades - I guess you'd call them a duo! Can you tell I'm in a really silly mood today? Each one contains a rather large
2.8g of product and can supposedly be used wet and dry - I've been too scared to try these wet though! There are
9 different shades available, each priced at
£2.80 and available from Wilkinsons.
The Formula Despite the bargain price and the huge amount of eyeshadow you get, I've actually been quite impressed with these. Cheaper make-up has really come leaps and bounds since I was a teenager, starting my adventure into the world of make-up! This is
soft and blendable and surprisingly doesn't kick up too much powder. The
colour does fade a little when you blend so I would advise blending softly! I do find that you need to
use some kind of primer with this to prevent creasing towards the end of the day. But to be honest I wear a primer most of the time anyway.
Colour & Pigmentation The pigmentation of this isn't super duper crazy awesome pigmentation, but it is
good and I'm more than happy with it. Together the two shades make
a beautiful, subtle smoky brown eye, all by themselves, nothing else. The darker shades works beautifully smudged across the upper lashline too! The lighter shade is a beautiful
champagne shade with a slight rosy tone to it and on the right we have a beautiful
taupey bronze shade with golden shimmer - beautiful!
The Good - Pigmented, cheap, value, 2.8g product, 9 choices in colour, pretty colours.
The Not so Good - You will need to use a primer, colour fades a little when you blend.
