Salon: Mahogany Hairdressing, London

After jaunts to Glastonbury Festival and Ibiza, it's safe to say my hair was in need of a good pamper. I'm growing it (sorry of my life for the past four years!) but have come to realise that I really need to practice what I preach and keep up with the regular trims. The ends of my hair were looking wispy and even though it's now below my shoulders, it was so thin on the ends you couldn't really tell. I'd also let me outgrown fringe, um outgrow even more! All in all it was a bit 'meh'
Walking into the salon, I was greeted and shown to my station, where the very lovely Nikki talked me through my options. I love a good consultation, and felt relaxed as Nikki explained what she thought would help my hair. Honest, and really friendly I was instantly put at ease. It was decided to take off about an inch, which would leave my hair blunter on the ends and level, encouraging the hair to look thicker and a lot healthier. The outgrown fringe was back to, with Nikki blending it into the front of my hair giving a softer look. I've now decided I want hair like Suki Waterhouse - a girl can dream eh! So the final result...
Mahogany Hairdressing are celebrating their 35th year in the business, and with Tai Walker - Head of Colour and Senior Creative Director Neil Atkinson maintaining high standards of education and progressive styling it's looking like they'll be around for a while yet! It's a Schwarzkopf Professional Salon, and you can take a look at the amazing new collection Suprematism, I love it when a salon releases innovative collections and the hair geek in me drools over the sharp cuts and colours.
There was a great feeling in the London salon, and I love that training goes on during salon opening hours on the salon floor. It's important for juniors to get a feel of a working salon, and nice to see them being learning services and practicing styling.
If you fancy popping to a Mahogany Salon, along with the London one, there are three in Oxford. All details can be found on their website. Highly recommend for your next cut and colour.
