She who #HAIRDARES

This November, why not take a hair dare to support the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. The only UK charity dedicated to defeating lung cancer are asking us to shave, style or dye their hair and post a selfie on social media to raise awareness and money for the foundation. Simply snap a funky mohawk, some neon strands or a crazy shaved panel and upload with the message
"Here's my #Hairdares for #LungCancerAwareness I nominate (insert lucky pals name here) Text DARE20 £3 to 70070"
After seeing the success of the no make up selfie, and ice bucket challenge, this is how we can use social media to help charities to get their message across and raise the funds to help. And it's fun!
Having had members of family suffer and lose the battle to lung cancer I wanted to take part to help get as much support for the foundation as possible. Only receiving 7% of funding spent on cancer research, lung cancer is the UK's biggest cancer killer. The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation gives help and hope to those living with lung cancer, and their families. Providing research and education, as well as support groups and patient relief grants to those affected by the disease.
The money you raise will help fund vital lung cancer research, as well as support for people living with lung cancer. £30 funds one of our monthly patient support groups, while £60 pays for one day of training for a lung cancer nurse. £250 means that we can offer a lung cancer patient relief grant to help meet urgent costs caused by diagnosis.
