The Week in Celebrity Fashion, Part 2

Ring the weekend in right – with a healthy dose of celebrity judgment.

DAKOTA FANNING in New York City
blouse and skirt by Miu Miu, sunglasses by Jimmy Choo, shoes by Christian Louboutin

Photo: Patricia Schlein/Starmax/GC

Fun fact: Beyoncé wrote “Flawless” about Dakota Fanning wearing this outfit. I mean, she totally didn’t, but she should have, because THIS IS FLAWLESS.

MARION COTILLARD in London
dress and shoes by Christian Dior

Chic, monochromatic, Dior. Marion Cotillard never needs much more than that. Also, did she cut her knee shaving? I actually find that totally endearing. I needed some sort of proof that she wasn’t just a ball of fabulous French energy sent to make us feel unworthy.

DIANE KRUGER in New York City
dress by Christopher Kane

Photo: Munawar Hosain/Startraks

BRB, I’m losing myself in Diane Kruger’s eyes for awhile. Damn, girl. Those are some serious baby blues. Also, j’adore the ever-loving shit out of this dress.

AUBREY PLAZA in Los Angeles
dress by Peter Pilotto, purse by Nancy Gonzalez, shoes by Jimmy Choo

Photo: Frederick M. Brown/Getty

I predicted that Keira Knightley would wear a similar version of this ridiculously beautiful dress, but I am surprised/thrilled to see it on Aubrey Plaza. I don’t know if she recently hired her first stylist, or a new stylist, or what, but she has upped her style game considerably in the past few weeks. Whatever you’re doing, Ms. Plaza, keep doing it.

MAGGIE GYLLENHAAL in New York City
dress by Derek Lam, shoes by Valentino

Photo: Mark Sagliocco/FilmMagic

I usually hate midi-length dresses, but this one works like a charm on hipster icon Maggie Gyllenhaal. Also, I want her shoes.

ROSAMUND PIKE in Berlin
dress by Prada, shoes by Christian Louboutin

Photo: PA

It definitely takes a long, lean silhouette to pull off this babydoll dress shape, but Rosamund’s got it. I wish she’d had more fun with the accessories, but something about the simplicity of this dress just works on her.

SARAH PAULSON in New York City
skirt by Alice by Temperley, shoes by Rupert Sanderson

Photo: FameFlynet

Every piece she’s wearing feels like a wardrobe staple, in a great way. It makes me want to be her friend, if only so I can steal her clothes.

DANIEL RADCLIFFE in New York City
suit by Raf Simons, shirt by Calvin Klein, shoes by Christian Louboutin

Photo: Andrew H. Walker/Getty

Hey, paparazzi, can you get your giant elbow out of the shot so I can focus on the wonder and adorability that is Harry Potter in a chic suit?

MEGAN FOX in New York City
top and skirt by Oscar de la Renta, shoes by Giuseppe Zanotti

Photo: Andrew Toth/FilmMagic

By far the most interesting thing she’s ever worn, and let’s be real – it’s not even that interesting.

MEGAN FOX in New York City
dress by Dolce & Gabbana, shoes by Brian Atwood

Photo: Andrew Toth/Getty

Has she changed anything about her style in the last decade? Or will she have this pretty-but-basic-bitch hair for all eternity?

ELISABETH MOSS in New York City
dress by McQ Alexander McQueen

Photo: Monica Schipper/Getty

The makeup is a touch on the heavy side, but the dress is cute as a button, and the shoes are a blast.

ELISABETH MOSS in New York City
dress by David Koma, shoes by Casadei

Photo: Gary Gershoff/WireImage

Does the racer-front thing actually look good on anyone? I’m not sure I’ve ever seen an incarnation of this style that I actually liked. It might be time to retire this particular shape, because it just makes everyone look like they have workout clothes on backwards.

CHLOË MORETZ in Los Angeles
top and pants by Simone Rocha

Photo: Rb/Bauer-Griffin

This outfit is definitely cool as hell, but I’m not actually sure Chloë is the best person for it. You might have to have a few more years of life experience under your belt before you can start wearing tartan puffy sleeves with shoulder cut-outs.

JESSICA ALBA in New York City
top by Houghton, skirt by Osman, purse by Christian Louboutin

Photo: FameFlynet

The matching embellishments on the shoes and top kind of bother me, but everything else about this is working. The color of that skirt is a dream on her.

JESSICA ALBA in New York City
blouse by Alice Olivia, pants by MaxMara, purse by Christian Louboutin

Photo: Michael Stewart/GC

Giant pants and platforms. Yes, we get it, the 70s are back. Can we move on yet?

SELENA GOMEZ in Los Angeles
top by Kaelen

Photo: FameFlynet

It’s an almost Gwen Stefani-esque outfit, which is pretty surprising on Selena Gomez. But she’s definitely pulling it off. Those sunglasses look completely badass on her.

NINA DOBREV on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
dress by Naeem Khan, shoes by Brian Atwood

Photo: Theo Wargo/Getty

This girl adores Naeem Khan, and you can see why. All of the label’s embroidered mini-dresses look practically tailor-made for Nina Dobrev.

HEIDI KLUM in New York City
dress by Roberto Cavalli

Photo: Andrew H. Walker/Getty

I can’t believe Heidi Klum is still doing her short/tight/shiny trifecta. This stopped being new and innovative at least a decade ago.

OLIVIA PALERMO in New York City
blouse by Ann Taylor, shoes by Aquazzura

Photo: Teach/FameFlynet

She looks like a kindergarten teacher dressed up for a class about Native Americans. Who doesn’t understand how stupid this makes her look.

KATIE HOLMES in New York City
top, pants, and shoes by Michael Kors

Photo: Johns PKI/Splash News

In all fairness, it’s not the worst decision she’s ever made, but at least Tom Cruise was pleasant to look at.
