Do Juice Cleanses Really Work? Let’s See [Part 1]

I used to be a foodie, but now I like to consider myself a foodologist. What’s a foodologist, you ask? Oh, that’s a foodie TO THE MAX. I’ll eat anything that tastes good, especially if it’s pleasing to the eye. But when you add a new relationship to yumazing food, you tend to gain a little weight and all that good food you previously ate makes feel a little icky on the inside.

Let me just give you the run down on foods I’ve eaten this summer: ribs, burgers, fries galore, empanadas, plantains, mac and cheese burritos (yes, I did that), and tacos tacos tacos!

Which brings me to juice cleanses.

In addition to feeling better, juice cleansing offers a host of benefits if you want to detox like:

  • improved sleep
  • clearer, brighter skin
  • hydration
  • increased energy

This is everything that I currently struggle with.

And let’s be real, I’m totally doing this for vanity purposes because I am human, after all, and I want to look good. There! I’ve said it.

I was ready to start. For laziness and lack of equipment reasoning, I opted to drink juices that were already made. Life Juice Shop helped me out with that! Stay tuned for part two to see how I did!

Have you ever tried a juice cleanse?
