holiday crafts with the help of hefty

A big thank you to Hefty for sponsoring today’s post and providing a fun way for my kids and I to create treats for their friends!

It’s the last weekend before Christmas, which means the malls are full, the wrapping supplies are out, and the menu planning has begun. Most of the gifts have been bought, and now, you just need a few small treats for your kids’ friends, unexpected company and as a favor for the kids at your Christmas celebrations next week. With the help of Hefty, I created these easy DIY treat bags, and I’m sharing the how-to here today!

Supplies Needed:
Hefty Quart Storage Bags
ribbon or twine
treat topper templates (there are THREE different designs!)

Step 1: Print out your template(s) of choice onto cardstock, and cut out. Fold along middle line labeled “fold here” (I told you this was easy!)

Step 2: Using a hole punch, punch out the two holes directly over the holes printed on the template. Feed a piece of ribbon or twine through.

Step 3: Fill your Hefty Quart Slider Bag with any treats you choose (I chose popcorn drizzled with dark chocolate, but any yummy treat will do)! Glue or staple treat topper over the top of the bag. Tie your ribbon into a bow.

Easy, right? You can find other Hefty holiday tips and craft ideas on their site, such as this creative way to store ornaments, this tip for freezing cookie dough, Hefty homemade ornaments, and this adorable snowman project!

Happy crafting!
