[ OUTFIT ] Why Do I Blog?

Let's talk about blogging today. Some of you may wonder why I spend much time and effort posting photos of my personal life on the web. Well, it goes back to when I first started my online clothing store, misspouty.com (it's currently closed). The idea was to connect more personally with my customers (potential and existing alike) by offering ideas on how to style the clothes I sell online in real settings. Indeed, many of my readers became my royal customers and there is nothing like to hear them saying how they love my blog and ended up purchasing clothes from my store.
Now that I've moved on from online retail business, I'm still trying to cling onto blogging for some reasons. First, I think it's important that you sort of brand/market yourself these days no matter what professional field you are in (whether it's about cooking, crafty projects, or nursing a child) and stay relevant on topics you are passionate about. Another reason is I simply like the idea of keeping a history of my life. One day I will look back all the photos and journal entries and hope this blog serves as some kind of memory lane. I understand fashion blogging by all means sounds a bit self absorbed and showy (in the world of who you are is what you pretend to be) but I just want you to know blogging is just a part of my life but not vice versa. My blog is a carefully edited version of blog-worthy occasions of my life with somewhat exacerbated emphasis on fashion, travelling, shopping or things I find aesthetically pleasing and worthy to share with you.
In my and other fashion blogger defense, the reason we keep mentioning labels we wear is really not to show off but it serves more as a reference/review sake for those who are interested in buying what you wear. Also in a hope of potential collaboration opportunity to work with the label you like. It's same as a food blogger to tell you which restaurant he/she goes to or travel bloggers to inform you which hotel they stay at.
I didn't mean to write an essay but I thought I should talk about this once and for all. Anyway, enough with the boring stuff and how pretty my dress is?? I was walking around the town in this dress the other day and a middle aged lady came over to me and said, 'I love your dress. My mother used to where one just like that. It's so 50's'. Her comments made my day!
