Papertrey Ink September release-in-review

We've come to the end of the road for the Papertrey Ink September release, which means that everything you've seen will be available for purchase in the store starting tonight at 10pm EST.
And now, for the rest of my projects this month!
First up, a little pillow box dressed up with a tag of sorts from Boutique Borders: Holiday.

I embossed the frame in gold and then stamped a sentiment from the set, along with tiny holly leaves and berries. The chevron ribbon underneath was a recent gift from a blog friend. :)

Next up, a CAS card featuring Holiday Cheer.

I started by stamping the birds, which are from Through the Trees. Then I made the teeniest masks ever for the birds, covered them up, and stamped the trees. I popped up that center tree after stamping it again in a light shade of green (limeade ice).

This next one might be one of my favorites from this release. I used Holiday Home to stamp a townscape along the bottom of some smokey shadow cardstock.

I added a sentiment embossed in white -- along with the year (I can't tell you how much I LOVE that touch) -- and some snowflakes that I made using a white gel pen.

Oh, man. Stained Glass. This stamp set, let me tell you. So gorgeous and so unique.

Here I kept it CAS again (of course) and stamped the focal image on vellum. I embossed it, so that the lines look like actual leaded glass, then colored with Copics. It's set back in a window that I die cut using the coordinating dies. The sentiment is embossed in gold.

Now for a somewhat untraditional holiday card featuring Grand Ampersand.

I stamped some images from Snowflake Flurries in aqua mist, melon berry, sweet blush, and harvest gold, then I overstamped with a sentiment I put together from Grand Ampersand. I added glitter to a few of the stamped dots and then two stripes of glitter at the bottom that I did using Scor-tape.

Here's another favorite from this month, this time showcasing Wonderful Words: Joy.

I used Autumn Pattern Pieces to stamp the houndstooth background (it's scarlet jewel ink on pure poppy cardstock) -- and yes, I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig. :) Then I embossed "peace, love &" in white and die cut "joy."
The tiny leaves are actually from Mini Blooms, and then I added a few small red rhinestones.

Also: Credit where credit is due. I was inspired by the bold background on this card and by the placement of the leaves on this card.

From one holiday to another... Rewind to Halloween!
I used Polka Dot Parade #8 to dress up this little treat pouch.

I die cut some orange zest patterned paper using the Wine Bottle Tag die (I use that thing all the time!), and then cut another "tag" out of kraft paper.

The outer pouch is just a strip of vintage cream cardstock that I cut to 4" x 10". I scored it at 4 3/4" and 5 1/4", then folded along my score lines to create a flat bottom. That sleeve wraps around a glassine envelope that I filled with candy corn, and a simple hinge clip at the top keeps the whole thing together.

Moving on to Kid Kudos. My daughter is in first grade this year, and she's staying for lunch at school now. I've apparently been a bad mommy so far because I've neglected to put any notes in her lunchbox. Not that she's complained at all, but the way the other moms go on about their lunchbox notes, you would think they had written War and Peace.
Kid Kudos to the rescue! I die cut a few Lunchbox Note dies from patterned papers in colors my daughter likes, then die cut a few squares with the Limitless Layers 2 1/4" Square dies, which I was psyched to learn fit perfectly in the Lunchbox Note die.

Each one features a sentiment from Kid Kudos.
Here I paired the sentiments with some images from Polka Dot Parade #2 and Little Bitty Bird.

My little stack of them, lunchbox-ready.

And last but not least, I made a card using Scent-imentals during Stamp-a-faire last month, but now that the set will be available for anyone to purchase, here's another for you.

I stamped the cherries image on PTI's linen vellum. Don't let the name fool you; it's not like the vellum you're used to. It has a texture to it, and a totally different opacity. It's brighter and whiter than traditional vellum, too. But I love it because it still provides a certain translucency. So, for example, in my card here you can see the patterned paper coming through the linen vellum.
I also did a little shading after I stamped with some colored pencils.

I used the Pinking Shears Border die to get my edges nice and straight because Lord knows, anytime I try to use pinking shears for paper longer than an inch or two, things start getting crooked.
Then a little stitching, to go with the homespun feel, and I overstamped the sentiment.

And that concludes my September projects!
