OUTFIT PLANNING

My friend: I am admitted to the University of Berkeley this summer.
Me: Oh my! Do I hear a road trip?
-------------------------
The countdown has officially begun. In only six days I will be taking the leap and fly to America by myself for the very first time. So exciting. But also so unprepared for an hour-by-hour planner, that it scares me.
I maybe can't plan the weather we will have, the people we will meet, the food we will eat and all the events we will experience. But what I can plan, and of course will plan, are my outfits.
Because that is what girls do when they travel, right?
San Francisco has pretty cool summers due to the cold seawater. Death Valley is extremely hot and dry. Las Vegas is for the rich and the famous. The national parks vary by elevation. The weather in Los Angeles looks like a dream.
Sigh, this won't be a piece of cake. Maybe I have to limit myself here to my travel outfit..?
outfit details. Amsterdam to San Francisco is an eleven hour flight, so comfort is key.
The trick is to create your own system, and stick to it. First of all, I go with an easy-fitting sweater and pants. If I can't have legroom, at least I can have cashmere. Little jewels and slip-on shoes save time at the security checkpoint. And I also dodge the airline blankets by wearing a scarf.
I don't wear too much makeup, as it will most likely either start to irritate me or get runny after hours on a plane. I always bring moisturizer with me both my face and hands. And lip balm.
Passport, airline ticket, sleeping mask, a good book and headphones? I think I am ready for take-off.
Do you have great tips for long flights? Are there any items that you highly suggest bringing along? Any advice is more than welcome.
