Apartment Hunting In LA

So for the past two months I have been apartment hunting and let me tell you it’s no small feat. I have moved into so many apartments in my 4 years of living out here and I have never had this much trouble finding the right place.

First things first you need to decide where you want to live. Each neighborhood is SO different in LA and surrounding areas it’s like you’re in a different world. Theres the Valley, Weho, Silverlake, Downtown, Los Feliz, Culver City, Santa Monica, Westwood, Beverly Hills, Koreatown…I feel like I could go on forever.

Our first mistake was not narrowing down. My free spirited self was like, “Let’s just find whatever and the neighborhood it ends up in will be where we live.” I had a few places I was into, Weho, The Valley, and the Westside anywhere there would be perfect. Two months later I’m so overwhelmed with my decision not to mention we want the option to have a dog and considering basically EVERYONE has a dog in LA I would think a dog friendly apartment would be easy to find. NOT

Every time we found the “right” place something would be wrong, no dogs, no laundry bad neighborhood, too expensive etc. I know its improbable we will find everything we want but I just want to walk into a place and feel like I can live there! Is that so hard to ask for people!

Looking during the holidays is great cause the prices are wonderful but also it sucks because you also have expenses like gifts and flying home for Christmas, lately I just want to pull my tiny hair out!

Not to mention I have a job and blog and music to keep up with, and I haven’t been feeling that well. But I pray that by the new year it will be a new start to health wealth and happiness and a new apartment! Wish us luck!!!

Oh and if you live in LA and have any tips please don’t hesitate to share!!

{UPDATE} Found a place yesterday! OMG hallelujah! And it pretty much has everything we want. I can breathe now!
