A Fashionable Sunday Funday: 50 Years of Ebony Fashion Fair

If you’re looking to make your “Sunday Funday” a little more fashionable here in Chicago, then I’ve got just the thing for you. The Chicago History Museum is currently showing Inspiring Beauty: 50 Years of Ebony Fashion Fair. The exhibit showcases the historical and famous Ebony Fashion Fair that traveled the country bringing Europe’s premier fashion to black communities.

At the exhibit you will learn how the Fashion Fair organizers overcame racial prejudice through their work and will see over 60 garments from fashion icons such as Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Lacroix, Oscar de la Renta and more. I saw the exhibit during a press preview and I highly recommend it as a must-see.

Here a few pics I took with my cell phone, so bear with the not-so-great quality. These are just a sneak peek of what you will see while there.

The exhibit is open until January 5, but don’t procrastinate–you’ll be sorry you missed it. Grab some friends and/or family and make it a Fashionable Sunday (or any day) Funday!
