This week's Currently Journal Card... Edited with A Beautiful Mess & Rhonna Designs apps I used to use Maskingtape, but for some reason I can't get it to open any pics on my new phone. It's bugging me.
d) Making charts for my Junior and Middle Men to master their math facts - by earning laminated pieces of a giant ice cream sundae. They assemble their sundae as they master each set of facts and take a quiz, weekly. In the end, when the whole thing is assembled together, they earn a trip to the ice cream parlor for real. Four rounds comin' our way: subtraction, addition, multiplication, and division. Hope dangling a sundae before their eyes gets these facts mastered, because it's holding us up!
e) Salads are calling my name. I need something more nutritious than pb&j, handfuls of chips, coffee & beer.
*ahem* Well, so what. It's just been like that, K? But seriously, I can only ignore myself for so long before it catches up with me. I'm no spring chicken anymore. I better start sooner than later...but who am I kidding? If you have any leftover Easter candy, send it my way and I'll take care of it for ya ; )
f) Planning a Butterfly Day at our local community garden. I sort of took over the organization of our homeschool meetup group. I think I said that, right? Anyway, it wasn't off to a great start so I'm a tad stressed about it. I'm currently putting together a morning of insect observation and symmetry painting at the gardens, then sharing the releasing of the butterflies we have in our homeschool habitat at the end.
*fingers crossed* for success! I'm really stepping out of a lot of comfort zones to do this - contacting directors and city halls, managing group communications, meeting and chatting with new people, leading a teaching meetup...what's up with that?? I don't know. I just jumped in.
g) Spring has filled our trees with greeeeeen as far as the eye can see. We have a lovely spot of woods in our backyard. My word, the trees! Right now it's magnificent.
