Wordless Wednesday: Bird Nest

Happy spring! Finally, am I right?

Technically, the first day of spring this year was March 20th, but it was still snowing here in Pennsylvania until April. The warm weather and everything beautiful that spring is supposed to bring with it has just started to kick in over the last week or two. Well, almost.

Up until just a few days ago there were no leaves on any of the trees. While the grass was finally turning green and even some flowers were starting to sprout up, there were no leaves. The birds that returned from the south also noticed the lack of leaves, and so they built their nest in the next best place they could think of – under my back porch that is built up high enough to shield their young from the elements and protect them from predators. Pretty ingenious on their part.
