October Trends

It's October and I could go on about how fast the year has gone but it reminds me of how much work I have left to do for the next month and it's all kind of freaking me out. Instead, I usually procrastinate by shopping to often, or by writing blog posts apparently. Here are some trends that have been floating around for a while now but I think they'll be great to try out this Spring and Summer. White shoes, culottes, slides and t-shirt dresses are the perfect way to welcome the warm weather and are pretty cheap ways to update your wardrobe considering there are so many different versions to choose from. For your convenience (and my own distraction) keep reading to see how I'd style the pieces and even some cheaper versions to shop.

White Sneakers

When I think white sneakers, I think of my white converse that have followed me everywhere I've gone for years. They're an easy piece to style since they match pretty much anything you could possibly wear - dressy, casual, you name it. A newer take on these though are the chunkier sole, higher version which I find fresh update to the flatter shoe.

T-Shirt Dress

A t-shirt dress is the epitome of lazy girls attire, but that doesn't mean it has to be boring. Just like in the first image, I'd style this with a dark lip and even the chunky white sneakers. When it's super hot all you want to do is chuck on something comfy, perfect to pull over a bikini or to wear under a plaid shirt for a late night BBQ. Ahh, literally all I see myself wearing, I can't wait.




Slides

Not to be mistaken with Birkenstocks, slides are the more sleek and understated lazy girls footwear. Okay, obviously I'm just becoming really lazy with everything I wear. I'm a big fan of the Zara Bio sandals, but they're pretty much sold out everywhere since they're old seasons. There are a lot of other versions out there though luckily so there's a pair for everyone.

Culottes

I've been a bit undecided on these since they started floating around at the start of the year. I think this is probably more because it has been a long Winter and who wants to wear anything but oversize knits and comfy pants? A great piece for the heat though paired with a crop of even a lacy bralet if you're not afraid to show some skin. They also kind of look like a long skirt so consider this the midi length skort for the new season. So many prints and colours to choose from, it's a great trend to try out if you want to try out something new, cheaply.
