Big Pimpin' Up in NYC

Fur can be fusty and grandmotherly if worn the wrong way, but in the hands of master stylist Patricia Fields, it's anything but. For the Helen Yarmak Spring 2014 presentation, opulent furs were given the House of Field touch of manic street style and in-your-face irreverence. Pink camo fox jackets were paired with fishnet babydolls and plush sable hoodies were worn with graffiti print track pants for the perfect hi-low mix. Black mink coats were given a distinctively pimped-out makeover, and a black and white raccoon coat received the over-the-top glam styling of early Rod Stewart, who just happened to be on hand presiding over the affair. Obviously, it was quite a departure from the kind of furs you'd find tucked away in your grandmother's closet.
