Tried and tested: the Dyson Air Multiplier

I’m a huge fan of electric fans because they’re easier on the environment (not to mention, the Meralco bill).
But design-wise, I’m picky. Few fans are ever chuva-approved.
At home, we have ceiling fans in every room. We used to have stand fans too, but they never last long because the maids like to dismantle them to clean the blades.
When I was a kid my hair got caught in the fan of my aunt’s Combi van (yes, I grew up in the ’70s).
Since then I’ve been scared of unsafe fans, especially with three kids at home.
And then there’s the bladeless Dyson fan.

The first time I ever saw a Dyson was about five years ago, when my Dad got one.
I couldn’t imagine how a bladeless fan could produce air.

Design is a huge factor for me when choosing things for our house. That’s why I’m thrilled to get the Dyson Air Multiplier. It’s perfect at the corner of our dining room to complement our ceiling fan.

The Dyson fan helps circulate the air around the room. When grilling on the table top, we use it as an exhaust fan by facing it towards an open window.
It comes with a handy remote control.

But don’t expect the Dyson fan to be as windy as your regular electric fan. This one is subtle, and it also works well with an air-conditioner to help bring down your room’s temperature, resulting in lower electric bills.
A bit pricey at Php 31,500 for a pedestal fan. But if design, safety, and quietness are important to you, check this out.
