Top Ten Best Pink Coats for AW13

ASOS | Vintage style cocoon coat | £110

Guys: I LOVE a hype beast. I love that, even though there are literally a dozen key trends each season, there's often one thing that is THE THING. I love that collective feeling that this item is the one thing missing from all of our wardrobes and NOTHING ELSE WILL DO. It's silly but it's fun!

For Spring/Summer 2013, it was definitely those Zara skorts - see my Pinterest board all about them here! - which I too own, although they're yet to make an appearance on the blog. Does the world need another fashion blogger posing in them, though? Probably not... but if you've done an OOTD in them, link me in the comments so I can add you to my board!

For Autumn/Winter 2013, it's all about the pink coat. Pale pink, to be precise, although I'll be rocking my bright pink vintage Lanvin oversized boyfriend coat. (LANVIN, YOU GUYS. Just wanted to make sure you caught that name-dropping. It's literally the only designer piece in my wardrobe so I'm dropping it all over.) I'm not sure which exactly pink coat will be the ultimate pick of the season yet - although, to be honest, I'd place my bets on that ASOS coat above...

Carven | Oversized brushed felt coat | £1350

In a lot of ways, I blame Carven for starting this trend. And I say "blame" but maybe I mean "thank". This looks like candy floss and I want to eat it right up.

Marks & Spencer | Pink duster coat | £85

So my surname is Marks and on that very tangential basis I'm starting my campaign to get an M&S discount card RIGHT NOW. Mostly for this coat. (God, who am I kidding? Also for the crayfish noodle salads.)

Rochas | Oversized wool blend coat | £1110

This is so perfect. That classic shape, that unconventially gorgeous colour, that accessible price... Oh wait. Sorry, dudes, this one is sold out already. But you weren't going to drop a K on a coat, were you? (If you were, email me. I've got an expensive coat habit you can fund.)

RED Valentino | Single breasted pale pink crepe coat | £535

A big part of this trend is the juxaposition between a classically girl colour and mannish cut but if you're a high femme, this sweet little collared number should check your boxes. (Essbeevee - I will buy you this when I'm rich!)

Tara Starlet | Girlfriend coat (also in green, orange and brown) £155

Wanna add a bit of vintage go-go to this look? This Tara Starlet number is kinda delightful - and the other colourways are gorgeous, too. Loving that faux fur collar!

French Connection | Glorious wool coat | £195

Soft and sweet and pretty, this FC dream is good if you're going for a girlier vibe but don't want to get tooooo twee. It's cute but it means business, too.

Primark | Shell pink oversized boyfriend coat | £32

Mate, this bad boy is crackalacking and it's only 32 quid. I wish you nothing but excellent Primark karma but good luck finding it in a store!

Topshop | pink fluffy boyfriend swing coat |£89

I think the gentleness of this one would envoke cuddles from passers-by. It doesn't say that in the website reviews or anything but it's probably something to watch. Snuggles!

Zara | Masculine studio overcoat | £179

Yes. One hundred yeses. Damn, this is one fiiiiiiiine looking coat. Well played, Zara (again.)

Which is your personal favourite, boo? Are you feeling this trend?

Are you running the proverbial mile from it? Let me know in the comments!
