Hotellet skriver selv:

Sorry. You are not going to find a television set here, not even a radio tuner. Only spaces for reading, a table for playing board games, corridors for reflection, cloisters that will bring back to you the smell of orange blossom, lime, wood, rest, peace, water and sun.

Free wifi, complimentary use of iPads, widescreen TV with Netflix and some other high-tech services.

This is how most of the modern hotels are promoting themselves today to reach their customers. Granted, this is also something I often appreciate and think of as good service.

But when I was researching the market for summer vacation destinations this year, first on my priority list was, to travel to a place where I could relax, “check out” and find peace… Like real peace. The choice fell on the beautiful Italian Amalfi Coast, but in my search of destinations, I came across this small design hotel in Andalucia in Spain, which certainly came under the categories “Less is more” and “Simple living”.

The hotel Hospederia Convento de La Parra is located in the small town of La Parra approx. 2 hours north of Seville, near the Portuguese border. The building formerly served as the city’s convent, in classic southern European style, with whitewashed brick walls, beautiful tiles on the floors and a courtyard in the center where citrus trees adorn. The decor is inspired by nature in the area, with rough wooden tables and daybeds, green cacti in clay pots, purple lavender and gauzy snow-white cotton curtains to shade from the hot sun. The pool is cozy located in a small atrium with direct view of the sky.

The hotel itself writes:

Sorry. You are not going to find a television set here, not even a radio tuner. Only spaces for reading, a table for playing board games, corridors for reflection, cloisters that will bring back to you the smell of orange blossom, lime, wood, balance, peace, water and sun.

If you are looking for peace in simple, but certainly luxurious surroundings on your next holiday, then I’m sure you’ll find it here…
