Another year

2013. Another lap around the sun, bringing new resolutions and new possibilities. Everthing are being categorised into pre or post the year, as well as every month, week or day in chronological order in between. It is a pattern of traditions we live in. Structuring and adjusting according to a partly cultural, partly social construction that have great influence on how we plan, think and act. It is indeed necessary. Easier. Sometimes however, I wish freedom from social thinking but on the contrary it might conflict with how our brains work. If that is the case, we are far from free in making our own choices. We are able to choose, but are so influenced by outer and internal factors making the choice predictable. Our free will may only be a minority (still restricted to some extent ). It passes through gaps midly unaffected, as opposed to the majority of the choices which passes through filters of wood.

Speaking of choices, I wonder why I am so influenced by Rick Owens clothing. Why does it appeal to me as much as it does? I have no answers to why I feel completed in his design. But I am curious finding out where the feeling origins. Nothing in my past or present life suggest a path of wearing such clothing. It is something I have discovered myself. Odd. But at the same time conforting to be entirely sure of something. And probably the only thing I will be sure of in 2013.
