New Year, Not-So-New Me

(Dress: eBay, years ago // Shoes & Bag: both Dune) Happy New Year, everyone! I hope you’ve all had a good start to 2014. Terry and I had been so busy planning for our house-warming party on the 28th (more on that later) that we hadn’t bothered to make any plans for New Year’s Eve, but our friends Ewen and Gillian told us about a bar near them which was having a New Year-themed cocktail event, and, well, it WAS New Year’s Eve, after all, so the four of us made a last-minute decision to go to that. We were really glad we did, too: the theme was “drinks from around the world”, (or, to put it another way, “Hey, let’s think of an excuse to drink a lot of cocktails, because New Year!”) and we were given a different drink every hour, to correspond with whichever part of the world had just welcomed in 2014 at that point. We had ouzo for Greece, whisky for Scotland… aaaand that’s basically as much as I can remember of the drinks, which I guess is the sign of a good night.
